On Monday, October 4, 2021 several members of the German Consulate General in San Francisco; the director of the Goethe Institute, Noemie Njangiru; the German Fachberater, Ingo Matthias; and several members representing the Kiehl – San Francisco sister city committee came together at the Mayor’s office in the SF City Hall. Also present was the Consul General of France, and Petra Specht represented the Excelsior German Center at the Altenheim in Oakland. They were greeted by Mark Chandler, the director of the Mayor’s office of International Trade & Commerce.  The movie shows how the new German Consul General, Oliver Schramm, raises the German flag. The event ended with a Champagne and cookie reception. That evening the City Hall was colored in black, red and gold colors, to honor the continued friendship between Germans and Americans.
