After four years of service, Consul General Hans-Ulrich Südbeck is leaving San Francisco. Thank you to Consul Südbeck for his dedication and support. We wish him and his family a wonderful time in Bangkok!
Here are some parting words from Consul Südbeck:
Dear friends,
for me it is time to bid farewell to the San Francisco Bay Area very soon.
My family and I had a magnificent four years here.
We made friends, fabulous friends, who we will miss dearly but who will continue to be present in our lives.
We met countless fascinating people, many of whom are dedicating their energy and time to projects which promise to make the world a better place.
We developed a far deeper understanding of the ongoing technological revolutions and their implications for our daily lives. And we saw that the respective “narrative” is of tremendous help when navigating your way through the new world to come.
We found that challenges and opportunities at the US West Coast aren’t all too different from the ones Germany faces and thus we had ample opportunity to promote mutual cooperation and friendship.
We loved the bright California sunlight and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of US Westcoast nature.
We will be back.
…
Thank you all for your cooperation, support and friendship over the last four years.
Please be just as welcoming to my successor Oliver Schramm who will arrive here in mid-August.
Be well, and “Au-revoir”
Uli
