We are presenting an Afternoon at the Movies where we will be continuing our viewing of the next few episodes of HEIMAT, Part 1 covering the following:
- Episode 9: Little Hermann (1955–1956). The teenage Hermann has a love affair with 26-year-old Klärchen, who is ostracized from Schabbach. (138 min)
- Episode 10: The Proud Years (1967–1969). Anton Simon and his brother Ernst struggle for success in their businesses. (81 min)
Note that these films are presented in German with English subtitles.
The event will take place on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 2 PM in the Prior Hall at the Altenheim. The series will continue through the next several months.
Please plan to enter at the Excelsior Avenue gate located at 1699 Excelsior Avenue, Oakland, CA 94602. Gates open at 1:30 PM. Parking is available on the street around the facility.
